I read The Race and Still Running and rank them in my top 10 favorite books (and I read a lot), so I was delighted when I saw that there was another new book (now actually two) and that it was even free on Kindle. I loved this one as well and didn’t understand one of the other reviews that complained about too much foreign language. From my perspective, it was minimal and always explained. I highly recommend these three books and can’t wait to get the final one in the series. They have helped me understand more clearly the underhandedness of Satan and the kindness of God.

The Bible reveals, how evil began in Heaven but give few details. The author using her sanctified imagination, gives us a glimpse of what life may have been like before sin entered the universe, then goes on to show how insidiously pride and rebellion grew into a full blown war on God and everything He loves. Well written and the perfect lead in to The Race trilogy.

In The Making of a Demon, Loredo builds the deep history behind the Paradisians and the Eternal One, as Kamil’s story is related to Juan. Kamil, born in perfection and harmony, but given free will, slowly walks the path further away from grace and goodness. Her fall is not a quick one, but made slowly and with great influence from Stanli, and it explores how much our choices affect who we become. I really appreciated Juan’s reaction to the story of Kamil, his insight into how free will gives us both the capacity for goodness and evil helps give insight into the character that I’ve encountered in other stories from Loredo. I think that this is a very thoughtful look at what it means to believe in and depend on a higher power and what it means to turn away and go down a darker path.
