It is most unfortunate that I only have two thumbs—I’d give it way more than a two-thumbs-up! The author has created an outstanding, well-written allegory that covers the progression of the Christian life, the plan of salvation, learning to trust God, the reality of the great controversy, and so much more in a way that meets the postmodern mind head-on. We offer so little to youth and young adults. This mss has both substance and appeal to this age group, although adults would probably enjoy it as well. I believe this book will have a tremendous positive impact…a great treasure handed to us on a silver platter.

This is an amazing book! I smiled, cried, and thought deeply about my own relationship with Jesus and God the Father. The battle between good and evil was thoroughly depicted and brought to life in this book. The author immediately grabbed my attention in the first chapter and held it until the end of the book. I highly recommend this book for publishing. I think it gives readers a glimpse into what the spiritual world might look like if we could see Jesus and Satan on a daily basis. The story definitely makes you ponder your own life and how you fit into the cosmic conflict that engulfs all of humanity. It was well crafted and needs little editing. The storyline flows seamlessly and the Christian life and journey was depicted in a very real way. This book really needs to be in print!

Dr. Loredo indicates that her target audience is postmodern late teens/young adults. That’s not me—I’m about five decades beyond that. Nevertheless, I am having difficulty finding the words to express how profoundly this book has moved—and changed—me. I’ve heard the story of the plan of salvation and the great controversy all my life; my tongue can trip lightly over the main points, events, and characters with rote, memorized, detached ease. Then I read this manuscript, and before the end of chapter 1 something had reached out and grabbed me by the shirt collar and didn’t let go even after I had read the last page. In its unique and modern setting, the great controversy narrative suddenly throbbed to life, three-dimensional, alive—and very personal. Chris’s failings are mine. I understand his slowness to comprehend, and rejoice in hope and happiness as the personal implications of the unfathomable love of God the Father and God the Son, and a mother’s nurturing love expressed by God the Holy Spirit begin to sink in. New insights, new perspectives, moments of Aha! tucked into every page. Fresh, vibrant, life-changing. It put heaven in my heart—and within my reach. . . Sort of a combination of C. S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters, Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, and White’s TheGreat Controversy.
